Attorney Peter J. Bartinik Jr. is an attorney with The Bartinik Law Firm LLC.  He lives in Stonington, Connecticut with his wife attorney Lori Bartinik, and his two children.

Education 

Attorney Peter J. Bartinik Jr. attended St. Bernard’s High School in Uncasville, Connecticut. He graduated in 1985, and was a member of the soccer team.  Attorney Bartinik then received his B.A. in economics from Providence College in 1989.  In College, he was a member of the rugby team.  He graduated with honors, Magna Cum Laude in economics.

After college he attended law school in Washington, D.C.  He attended The Columbus School of Law, The Catholic University of America.  He graduated with his juris doctor in 1992.  While in Washington he interned with the Department of Justice, civil division.  Attorney Peter J. Bartinik Jr. graduated with honors, and was selected to the The Columbus School of Law, Catholic University Law Review.

Attorney Bartinik practices law in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Florida  The vast majority of his law practice is in Connecticut.  He was admitted to the Connecticut bar in 1992.  In 1993 he was admitted to the Rhode Island bar.  In 2022 he was admitted in Florida.  Attorney Peter J. Bartinik Jr. is also admitted to the Pennsylvania bar although he does not practice in Pennsylvania.

He is a past President of the New London County Bar Association, 2000-2001.

Attorney Peter Bartinik Jr. has served as an elected official for his town in several different elected roles over the years.  His involvement started as soon as he returned to Connecticut upon completion of law school.  He was first elected to the Town of Groton Representative Town Meeting, Groton in 1993.  He served on the RTM for ten years until 2003 when he was elected to the Town of Groton Town Council.  He served on the Town Council for four years from 2003 to 2007.  In 2007, he was elected to the Town of Groton Board of Education where he served two years.
